Test Day Report Aintree 7th May (Test Day, Aintree MC)

Well a first for the wsg racing team riding at the aintree circuit in liverpool, after only riding with the Wirral 100 club last year aintree was on the list as the 3rd circuit to race at.

With not even setting foot on the track i thought it would be a good idea to do a test day there, was a short day starting at 1pm but the sun was shinning so was perfect for lots of grip!

1st session out there was just to get a feel for the track and the lines, felt ok with the track although its mega bumpy in places which i wasnt too confident about at first, after a few laps i was doing ok although the last turn before the start finish straight i just could not suss it out which resulted in me coming out of the corner mega wide and even going onto the grass at one point.

Back into the pits not feeling too confident i turned to a fellow racer darren who was also doing the test day and asked about the final corner and he said that the corner has a very late apex which was hard to see since there are tree's in the way.

So with alittle the wiser i went out for the second session building up a touch more speed with the part of the track i was ok with and on to the final corner taking it as some of the other riders were, few more laps and i was getting the gist of the corner and was feeling more confident.

All in all i did 4 sessions altogether the 3rd and 4th sessions i was building up more speed and feeling more and more confident with the circuit, which i was happy about because after the first session i wasnt pleased at all, but all was good in the end.

So i came away pretty happy knowing that i was matching the pace of other riders that have rode there before.

Only a short break till the race day there on the 17th May.
